Day 2 - Food Log, Thoughts & Questions

Today I felt good, but I have a problem... just after I ate still think I'm hungry. I've been trying to work on this by drinking more water.

Weight:

  • 292 from Dec 20th
  • Goal for next weigh-in on Dec 27th is 290

  • Exercises:

  • 30 minute walk at lunch.
  • Food Log:

  • Double shot of espresso
  • Tangerine Emergen-C with about a cup of water. (20 Calories, 5g Sugar, 1000mg of Vitamin C)
  • Chocolate peanut Butter – Zone Perfect Bar (210 Calories, 7g Fat, 4g Sat Fat, 14g Protein)
  • 1 Glazed Krispy Cream Donut :-o
  • Ham Sandwich
  • Zipfizz Liquid Shot (30 Calories, 0g Sugar)
  • Satsuma orange
  • 1 Cup of pretzels sticks
  • Small salad
  • Small handful of peanuts
  • Meatloaf
  • Twice baked potato
  • 8 cups of water
  • New Question:
What do you do when you have just eaten, but you still feel hungry?

    Outstanding Question:
If anyone has some advice on my diet, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, has anyone lost 100+ pounds before? Did you have to have surgery to remove the extra skin or was there exercises that you did that helped firm up your stomach/belly?

    Day 1 - Pictures, Weigh-in, Food Log

Today is the day I start really working on my weight. I've started by posting pictures of what I look like now. :-(

Today was a good day, but started out a little rocky. Woke up with a headache and took several hours to get rid of it. I have a history with migraines, so I don't do well with any kind of headache. Most headaches also make me feel sick to my stomach.

Since this is the day I'm starting, I'll list my weight. It was a little better then what I thought it was going to be, but not much better.

    Weight: 292 - (Goal for next weigh-in on Dec 27th is 290)

    Exercises: None
I will work on going for a walk doing my lunch break. My plan is to walk for 30 to 45 mins every workday at lunch.

    Food Log:
Took Alka Seltzer for headache and stomach problems associated to headache.
Double shot of espresso. – Been trying to cut down on coffee, but sometimes when I wake up with a headache, caffeine is the only thing that will help me lose the headache
Tangerine Emergen-C with about a cup of water. (20 Calories, 5g Sugar, 1000mg of Vitamin C)
Chocolate peanut Butter – Zone Perfect Bar (210 Calories, 7g Fat, 4g Sat Fat, 14g Protein)
    Ham Sandwich
Zipfizz Liquid Shot (30 Calories, 0g Sugar)
    Satsuma orange
    1 Cup of pretzels sticks
    Small salad
1 1/2 Cups of Home Made Vegetable Soup
    Small roll with butter
I'll work on doing better about tracking my water intake, but I would guess my water intake was around 5 cups today.

I will update this post tomorrow, if I end up eating anything else before I go to bed.

If anyone has some advice on my diet, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, has anyone lost 100+ pounds before? Did you have to have surgery to remove the extra skin or was there exercises that you did that helped firm up your stomach/belly?

    Night Before

Tonight is the night before I'm going to start my fight to loss weight.

To tell you a little about myself. I'm a 34 year old male. I have a very sedentary lifestyle. My real weight struggle started in my early 20's. I had a problem with depression and between the medication and a change in lifestyle, from a very active job to a more sedentary job I put on 50 to 60 pounds. I went from 175 to low 200's. Between my 20's and 30's I put on another 20 to 30 pounds and was in the mid to high 200's. When I was 29, I had another very bad period of depression that lasted 3 years and put on more weight until I was in my low 300's. From when I was 29 until just last year I worked very hard with a shrink and counselor and have my depression under control without any need of medication at this point. Because of the weight, I've suffered high blood pressure and have glucose readings that are heading toward diabetic.

My life is know going very well now, but I am having a very hard time losing the weight. So I thought I would blog my progress and maybe get some help and encouragement from anyone that reads this blog. Also, I hope that my struggle may be helpful to someone else out there going through similar issues.

My goal is to get down to 185 pounds in a year. I haven't weighed myself in a while and am a little scared, but I will jump on the scale tomorrow to start the blog. (My guess is I'm right around 300 pounds) I will blog how I feel each day, what I have been eating and drinking, and what exercise I've done. Once a week I'll post my current weight and once a month I will post a photo. I will start tomorrow with a picture and my current weight and what I had to eat for the day. I will also be making an appointment with a doctor to get a check-up and will report back with what the doctor says.
